eLearning Training Information 

Plan your own D2L Training:

Starting immediately, eLearning Support is providing a new opportunity for you to receive training in D2L.  We are calling it “Plan Your Own D2L Training.”  With “Plan Your Own D2L Training,” you can decide what area of D2L you want to work on and set up a training session at your convenience.

To get started with “Plan Your Own D2L Training,” here is what you need to do:

1. Go over the “menu” of options in the document titled “D2L TRAINING SESSIONS” [see file below]
2. Then find the SESSION that supports the D2L skill(s) that you want to work on.
3. Email Julie Adams at jadams@bemidjistate.edu with the following information:

• SESSION # & Topic: Include the session number from the “menu” and the D2L tool or feature, for example, SESSION #9: Content.
• DATES/TIMES: Include at least 2 or 3 dates and times that are convenient for you. (The best days & times for us are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 am-1 pm.  We will try to accommodate other days and times, if these are not convenient for you.)
• BUDDY or TEAM NAMES (optional): If you have colleagues who will join you for the training session, include their names (up to 3 additional people).  They must be available on your preferred dates & times.

After everything has been determined (the SESSION, the date & time, and the participants), we will set everything up for the training.  All you need to do is to come to the eLearning Center in Memorial 12 with your laptop.

A FEW NOTES & COMMENTS:

• Bring your laptop.

• Training sessions will last approximately 30-45 minutes.  Feel free to stay after the training session and work a little more.
• Bring a buddy or create your own “team” (with two or three colleagues). 
• There will be a cap of 4 participants for each training session.
• If there are still spaces available for a training session, we will send an email to the D2L Users Group inviting additional participants.  You will need to RSVP to ensure a space in the training session.

NOTE: Sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate WALK-INs to any training session.

COMING SOON (D2L training via Wimba)

For those of you who cannot easily get to the BSU campus, we will be using Horizon Wimba (conferencing software program) to provide training in D2L.  Brian Jambor, the new educational technologist, will be working with us on this.
